Australian Winter, French Style
As I write this, I am preparing to leave Sydney for Paris.
Twice a year, I travel back to France to source the collections you'll discover at Volange in the months ahead. It's one of my favourite parts of the business. Not only because I get to discover beautiful new pieces, but because it allows me to observe how French women actually dress in everyday life.
Of course, Paris winters are much colder than Sydney's. You'll see long wool coats, scarves wrapped around necks and layers upon layers of knitwear. Sydney winters seem to be shorter and warmer, but the principles of French style remain the same: you can be chic, have an interesting look without a complicated style nor blowing the budget.
That's exactly the inspiration behind this collection.
The Art of Dressing for Real Life
French women dress for real life. They don't reserve their favourite clothes for special occasions. They wear them on a Tuesday morning. To meet a friend for coffee. To run errands. To go to work. There is a belief that everyday life deserves a little elegance (without being overdressed). It means choosing pieces that are comfortable, versatile and beautifully made, then wearing them with confidence.
Building a Winter Wardrobe That Works
Australian winters don't require a wardrobe full of heavy coats and thick layers. Instead, they call for pieces that can be mixed, matched and layered with ease.
This season, I've focused on the wardrobe essentials that work hardest:
Beautiful blouses that bring softness and femininity.
Knitwear that feels cosy without feeling bulky.
Relaxed denim and tailored trousers that are comfortable enough for everyday wear.
Versatile jackets and layering pieces that adapt to changing temperatures.
Thoughtful details that elevate even the simplest outfit. These are the pieces that become favourites because they work again and again.
Why French Women Always Look Chic
People often ask me why French women seem so effortlessly stylish. The answer is rarely trends. Instead, they tend to rely on a few simple principles:

Dress for yourself, not for others. Perhaps that's why French style never really goes out of fashion.
A Little Bit of Paris, Right Here in Australia
Over the coming weeks, while I'm walking through Paris showrooms and discovering future collections, I'll also be thinking about the women who shop at Volange. Women with busy lives, families, careers, travel plans and endless things on their to-do lists. Women who want to feel stylish without spending hours getting dressed. Women who appreciate quality, beautiful details and clothing that makes them feel good. This collection is for you.
A little French inspiration, adapted for an Australian winter.
Because style isn't about impressing anyone else. It's about feeling confident, comfortable and elegant in your own skin, every single day.
À bientôt,
Prune x
